Writing Effective Dialogue — It is a truth amongst all writing that dialogue can make or break it.Dialogue is also one of the hardest things to get right within your writing. There is no easy answer or sheet to follow when writing dialogue, but there are things you can do to improve it.
The Ice Ship to Beat the Germans — Many innovations helped win World War II. Operation Pluto was the pipeline that pumped fuel to the soldiers. The Mulberry Harbour provided the ships with a temporary port. However, not all of these were a roaring successes, and some, with hindsight, appeared too ludicrous even to be real, such as The Ice Ship.
Three Recommendations
Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow — I didn’t expect to love this book as much as I did. This is a story about disability, those you can see and those you can’t. It is also a story about depression and loss. But, more than this, this is a love story. I can’t see any book beating this in 2024. I simply loved it.
Station 19 — I have got into watching this again this week. This is the fire brigade spin-off to Grey’s Anatomy. The series follows a group of firefighters of the Seattle Fire Department Station 19, from the captain down the ranks to the newest recruit in their personal and professional lives.
