Like you I rate twitter far higher than Facebook. I have made some really good connections on Twitter where as I have limited Facebook to people I know only.

I would definitely pay for Twitter especially a premium service. A service that adds additional features such as edit your tweet and enhanced profiles. Much the same as Medium offers.
