The Title Fight — All the back pages covered the news of Darius Deaddog Dunn’s humiliation at the hands of his mother. He had been ten rounds into the biggest fight of his life when his mother had thrown the towel in for him. Not any towel either, the woman had thrown a white tea towel onto the canvas. This effectively stopped the title fight.

Five Crime Novels that are Essential Reading — As a writer in True Crime, I love to admire the work of others. It is hard to say I enjoyed these books as enjoyed seems the wrong word. However, these are the books that I have gained the most from. Most of them, except for the last, are for all to read, whether you write crime or are just a fan of true crime. The last book is a strange, controversial choice, but I can not deny that it has provided valuable insight that I have used in many articles.

James Clear 3–2–1 Newsletter — I have been a subscriber ever since I read atomic habits. This newsletter is well worth the space it takes up in your inbox as it offers a short compact email that makes you think. It is a really quick read but has inspired a few articles.

Slow Horses — As I have been feeling under the weather I have been watching more television than normal. Slow Horses on Apple + is well worth checking out. Originally a book by Mick Heron it tells the story of MI5 agents who have been disgraced and sent to Slough House almost a sin bin for agents. There is a brilliant cast but for me Gary Oldman steals the show with his wit and sarcasm.

Procreate — Every image I make for my articles is created on Procreate. Although the application is sold as one for artists you can also use it to produce social media thumbnails, images and much more. I personally find it much more versatile than
